Ladakh, the highest settlement in India and served by river Indus is the region of festivals, mostly due to being home to two of world major religions - Hindu and Buddhism. Among the most popular festivals include; Hemis Festival, Dosmoche Festival, Losar Festival, Sindhu Darshan Festival, Ladakh Festival, and Tak-Tok Festival. The area is dotted with monasteries & Pagodas, tourist can commune with the monks in monasteries such as Hemis Gompa, Thiksey Gompa and Shey Palace.

Ladakh is a high altitude region ranging from 9000 feet (2,750 m) at Kargil to 25,170 feet (7,672 m) at Saser Kangri in the Karakoram. Due to its high altitude, it is one of the last places in India that retains its natural beauty. It is sparsely populated unlike most of India.

Ladakh is arid but home to 225 species of birds such as finches, robins, redstarts and Hoopoe. It never ceases to amaze the tourists who venture this far up that the region could retain so much of its natural beauty. The unimaginable happens in Ladakh...imagine how surprised you will be to see a lake at 4350 meters above the sea level. Well, Ladakh surprises you in every possible way.

Maximum Altitude: Ladakh is the highest plateau of the Kashmir Valley, with much of it being more than 3,000 meters above the sea level.

Temperature Range: Summer: 3 to 35 Degrees, Winters: -20C to -35C Degrees

Itenary

Day 1 - Arrival in Leh

  • Upon your arrival in Leh, meet our representative/ guide and get transferred to the hotel.
  • Rest of the day free to acclimatise to the high altitude of Ladakh
  • The local market in Leh will be lively in the evening, so plan to explore in the evening.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Leh.

 

Day 2 - Excursion to Sham Valley (150 Kms round trip)

Post breakfast, start the tour to Alchi. Enroute visit Magnetic Hill, Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, Confluence of Zanskar and Indus river and  Alchi Monastery. Will driving back to Leh visit Ladakh Hall of fame. Arrive hotel in Leh for dinner and overnight. 

  • MAGNETIC HILL: Defying the Law of gravity. It has been noticed that when a vehicle is parked on neutral gear on this metallic road the vehicle slides up-hill.
  • GURUDWARA PATTHAR SAHIB: The shrine is situated about 25 km from Leh town on the Leh-Srinagar road. It was built in the everlasting memory of Shri Guru Nanak Deve Ji.
  • CONFLUENCE OF THE ZANSKAR AND THE INDUS: On way to Sham Valley before Nimu village one can have this magnificent view of two rivers in wedlock! In seasons they have different colours and flow and wildness. 
  • ALCHI GOMPA: It is located 70 Kms from Leh, on the banks of the Indus. One of the features it has is a large number of miniature sized pictures of the Buddha. Three substantial measured pictures made of mud and painted brilliantly are its central attractions. This is the only monastery amongst 34 monasteries, which is not located on a hilltop. 
  • THE HALL OF FAME: The Hall of Fame is a heavenly museum constructed by the Indian Armed force. You can see the memories of the war period, eminent defence personalities with biographies, images and weapons used during the Kargil and other key strategic battles fought in Ladakh.

 

Day 3: Leh - Nubra Via Khardungla Pass (140 Kms / 5 – 6 hrs)

Start the day early by proceeding to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass via World Highest Motorable road (5602 Mts) Khardungla pass. Arrive Nubra and proceed for a visit to the White Sand Dunes at Hundar

  • KHARDUNGLA PASS: The road journey to Nubra valley leads through Khardung La pass (The highest Motorable road in the world) 18,390 ft. around 39 Kms away from Leh.
  • DESKIT GOMPA: Deskit Gompa was founded in about 1420 AD. About 100 monks are residing in the Gompa.
  • HUNDAR VILLAGE: Hundar is a beautiful village to stay with a lot of trees around.It has a small monastery and ruined fort above the village. The walk or Camel Safari from Hundar to Deskit, through sand dunes, is the most wonderful experience in Hundar.

 

Day 4: Nubra - Leh

After breakfast, head to travel to Leh, once again driving via Khardungla pass. Evening explores Leh bazaar for the souvenir, visit Leh Jokhang or Leh Mosque by foot.

  • JOKHANG: It is open throughout the day for visitors. The Gompa contains the statue of Joyo Rinpoche (crowned Buddha).
  • LEH MOSQUE: The Jama Masjid of Leh was built in 1666-67 AD under an agreement between Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb and Ladakhi ruler Deldan Namgyal.

 

Day 5: Leh-Pangong (140 Km / 5 hrs drive)

Morning, after breakfast drive to Pangong Lake. In transit visit Shey Palace and Gompa. Evening check in Camps for dinner and overnight stay.

  • SHEY PALACE AND GOMPA: It is situated on a hillock 15 Kms upstream from Leh. A 7.5 mts high copper statue of Buddha, plated with gold and the biggest of its kind, is introduced here.
  • THE PANGONG LAKE: This route takes the guest past the beautiful towns of Shey and Thikse. The Ladakh range is crossed by the Chang-la (18,000 feet/5,475 M). But the primary fascination of this circuit is the Pangong Lake, situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 M). It bears fabulous view sparkling in the regularly changing blues and greens of the lakes salty water. Above Spangmik are the snow-topped peaks of the Pangong run.

Day 6:  Pangong– Leh

After breakfast drive back to Leh taking the similar route. In transit back visit Thiksey Religious community and Sindhu Ghat. Arrive Leh and unwind at the hotel or free for individual exercises.

  • THIKSEY GOMPA: 19 Kms from Leh, stupendously sited, Thiksey is one of the biggest and structurally most great Gompas. There are a few temples in this Gompas, containing pictures, stupas and artistic creations of Buddha.
  • SINDHU GHAT: The Sindhu Ghat is located at Choglamsar town at the bank of River Indus. Consistently Sindhu festival is hung on the Sindhu Ghat. The celebration is a perfect open door for travellers and explorers from everywhere throughout the nation and the world to visit this superb region and to appreciate its raw excellence and appeal.

Day 7: Departure

  • Leave on schedule for Leh airport to get onto your flight to back home.

  • Any expenses arising out of unforeseen circumstances like flight delay/cancellation / hike in fare, strike, curfew or any other natural calamities (like road block) or any emergency evacuation expenses. If there are any changes in itinerary due to the above circumstance, guest will have to pay directly over there as per user.
  • There is no refund if the tour not completes due to a reason of any natural calamities or any personal reason.

Advisory                                

  • Climatic conditions in the high altitudes vary from the plains; take adequate time to get acclimatised to high altitudes.
  • Pay heed to the tour leaders or instructors in order to enjoy a safe and sound experience.
  • Do not consume alcohol or any other intoxicants during the tour.
  • Avoid roaming during the nights.
  • Carry basic medications and a first-aid kit during the tour.
  • The tour takes place through eco-friendly zone; do not encourage littering the local sites or campsites.
  • While visiting the temples, do obey proper dress-code and do not hurt the local sentiments of the places.
  • Below 3 yrs child is not recommendable for Ladakh tour.

 

Child Policy

  • Children below 5 years of age are allowed to stay free with parents without extra bed.
  • Children between 5 – 12 years have to take an extra bed at the prescribed rate.
  • 02nd child between 5 – 12 years sharing parent's bed have to pay extra for Meals only.

 

Cancellation Policy

  • If cancellations are made 30 days before the start date of the trip, 25% of booking value will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made 15-30 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of booking value will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made within 0-15 days before the start date of the trip, 100% of booking value will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • In the case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and in such cases, the operator will try his best to provide an alternate feasible activity. However, no refund will be provided for the same.
